Letter from the Ed.
Simplah is an idea I came up with after being asked by a friend for the umpteenth time how Joe/Jane could get onto the web. Having worked for a large media conglomerate for over six years, the fact that I was being asked this baffled me as there is certainly no shortage of resources around to assist with such queries.
Whether it be design, development, copywriting or even just providing good advice, you only have to look in the yellow pages (or even better - google it), to be presented with a colourful array of professionals to help you.
Therein seemed to lie the problem. When confronted with so much variety, a range of unknowns rated ‘excellent’ at one end of the spectrum and ‘disastrous’ at the other - a person may be less confident making a decision than if they were limited to a choice between, say, two mediocre options. I have the same problem picking a DVD so I understand.
What really cemented the idea to become yet another choice in creative consultancy, was that at least 50% of people complained of having already had a disappointing and in some cases, catastrophic experience trying to build a website, wasting huge amounts of money, blood, sweat and not everyone admitted to tears.
Now that’s just darned near unacceptable. If there is only one thing I have to offer, it is the experience that getting online doesn’t need to be complicated. Neither does any of the other material that goes along with marketing yourself.
If you have read this far and are interested in how I can help you, check out the common myths page for a concise idea of what I do, browse through my portfolio to check out a few of the projects I am involved with and contact me for a cup of coffee and some good ideas.
